KIMBERLY KIRKENDALL, President
Kim Kirkendall, CPA , with almost 20 years experience in international business, has lived and worked abroad in both Asia and Europe. As both an employee and consultant she has worked with businesses developing their international manufacturing, sourcing, and operations. Through Office Outsource, Inc. she brings her analytical skills to focus and spur action in corporations managing change in China & the U.S.
Her experience in China began in 1986 with a year of advanced language study at the Beijing Language Institute. During the next five years she briefly worked in Germany, then moved to Shanghai to manage two factories for an American company and later became General Manager for the same company of their subsidiary export firm in Hong Kong. During that time she had responsibility for 5+ people in each office and all aspects of the business; raw material import, production control, finished goods export, QC development, subcontractors, bank financing, international sales, and supply chain management.
She then moved to California to direct Asian manufacturing and develop a Target Costing program / team of five, first in San Francisco then moving to Los Angeles. At that time there were offices in Korea, Hong Kong, and Bangkok and additionally manufacturers in Taiwan, Indonesia, and the Philippines. She spent 9 months of the year traveling. She was responsible for qualifying vendors, placing product, and staff development in the offices overseas as well as managing her team in the U.S.
After moving to Ohio she took a position in operation; managed an outsourced warehouse, direct imports, and inventory control for a group of catalogs. Becoming a CPA Ms. Kirkendall began consulting, both in Finance/Accounting and in International Operations. Her focus remains on China and developing business between the two countries.
In 2004 she was instrumental in creating the China Resource Network. CRN is an organization that brings executives who work in China together for networking and professional development. The organization holds conferences and provides members an online Forum for dialogue concerning their efforts in China. She is often quoted in the media and has been featured in the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Columbus Reporter, Inside Business Magazine, Smart Business Magazine, etc.
Ms. Kirkendall has spoken for a variety of organizations, including: the World Trade Center, CAMP (manufacturing center), the U.S. Export Assistance Council & Ohio Department of Trade, Ohio State University Distinguished Lecture Series, and for the China Resource Network conferences. DR. PAUL E. SCHROEDER
Dr. Paul E. Schroeder - We are pleased to welcome a distinguished businessman and scholar to the team at China Resource Training. Dr. Schroeder began his career in China with a government service there from 1984 to 1988, acting as representative for the State of Ohio and developing business opportunities for Ohio companies. In that capacity, he worked closely with central, provincial, and municipal business and government agencies as well as numerous private firms. After living in China, Dr. Schroeder spent five years at the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations in New York , where he managed legal and economic development programs, and later served as director of the Committee's corporate program. Over the next ten years he managed his own trading company with China and served as a consultant to U.S. companies developing business there, before joining us here at China Resource Training in 2007. He is also currently a part-time professor at Case Western Reserve University in the East Asian Studies department.
Dr. Schroeder holds degrees in zoology, journalism, and political science, and received his doctorate in Chinese business development issues from The Ohio State University . He maintains his active involvement in international affairs as an editorialist and often quoted expert on many subjects. |
